Optical Line Terminal (OLT) Core of Optical Access Network

OLT security protection systems are an integral part of the network protecting its infrastructure from various security threats. These systems incorporate authentication processes that permit only authorized ONUs to connect to the OLT. Data eavesdropping and theft is prevented by encryption techniques on data streams between the OLT and ONUs. Uncontrolled access from outside networks can be filtered behind external border firewalls. Furthermore, sensors can track system activities and analyze them as useful data to detect alive malicious activity as a useful addition to the optical access network’s security arsenal.
